The 25th annual airing of the Georgina Cares Live TV Auction is scheduled for November 24 on Rogers TV Georgina and online at www.rogerstv.com.
Last year’s auction was a rousing success and raised over $44,000.
Sharon Maki, auction coordinator, said, “We are currently seeking donations of items and gift cards, ideally from Georgina businesses. Families can support by purchasing and donating gift cards from local businesses, with both the family and business mentioned during the broadcast. Georgina Cares also welcomes monetary donations.”
The Georgina Cares fund began in 1996 to help raise money for children’s sports activities, school funding programs, Grade 12 student scholarships, and family assistance for those in need.
This year, they plan to have over 300 items up for bid, including rounds of golf, gift baskets, and martial arts memberships.
Some bigger ticket items already donated are a year-long family membership from Fitness Force (value $1100) and a chance to co-host The Morning Drive with Dan Pollard at The New 93.7 K Country (value $1500).
Rob Grossi, Jennifer Anderson, Kevin Forget, Mike Waddington, and other Rogers TV personalities will host the auction.
Former Mayor of Georgina Rob Grossi said, “I host and do the auction each year because the event raises money that goes to support many people every year and it’s a lot of fun to do.”
