Prepare your taste buds for an unforgettable day at the Butter Tart Festival this Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Ice Place will be transformed into a butter tart lover’s paradise for the 5th year in a row!
Proceeds from the event support the Peaceful Hearts Georgina Foundation, which offers day programs for children, youth, and young adults with special needs.
Founder Karin Cacciola proudly shares, “We also give back to the community which so generously supports us. For example, a portion of the proceeds we donate to the local food pantry.”
This year promises a feast for the senses with a variety of attractions beyond just delicious desserts.
Guests can look forward to six spectacular raffle baskets valued at over $3,000, generously sponsored by Camp Forming, whose president, Christina Campoli, has been a steadfast supporter of the festival from the very beginning. There will also be a fun 50/50 draw!
While the spotlight is on the butter tarts, visitors will also discover unique gifts from a variety of vendors. Bakers and vendors will flock in from far and wide, with four new bakers alongside tried-and-true favorites.
Behind the scenes, the preparation is intense as bakers prepare to whip up hundreds of fresh tarts—over 200 dozen, to be exact—ensuring that no one leaves empty-handed!
Thanks to widespread advertising by proud sponsor K Country 93.7 Radio, word about this event has spread swiftly, making the festival a tourist hotspot that attracts day-trippers from Vaughan, Toronto, Uxbridge, and beyond. With a reputation for being a must-visit event, this year’s festival is expected to be bigger and better than ever!
The judging panel this year consists of community-based and corporate sponsors, each with a passion for butter tarts: Caroline Butterworth, Christina Campoli, Steve Faudemer, Forrest Jones, Cathy King Ward, Patryk Laszczuk and Grant Peckford.
Getting ready to judge for the first time, Forrest Jones shares his excitement: “I hope you all will come to this year’s INCREDIBLE Butter Tart Festival Tarts4Hearts! I can’t wait for the OOOOEEEYYY-GOOOEEEYYY goodness!”
Be prepared for a day packed with delicious treats, and electrifying fun as thousands of tarts roll into Georgina this weekend!
Although the event is free, any monetary donations are welcome. The venue is fully accessible, ensuring everyone can join in on the fun.
