If you are hunting for festive cheer and the perfect gift without going too far, you’re in luck. Georgina is absolutely twinkling this season.
Start at Whipple Tree Country Store in Glenwoods Plaza in Keswick, probably the biggest shop of its kind in town and already dressed head-to-toe for Christmas.
Every space is full of holiday spirit — from giant, fluffy snowmen to the smallest festive tea towel. Beyond the Christmas themed displays, you’ll also find gift-ready treasures like candles and bath soaks from the local Dragonfly Farm.
The owner’s creativity sets the tone, with holiday touches tucked into every nook. “Our most popular items?” says Lori, sales associate. “Anything Christmas. And we’re still adding new goodies!”
In Sutton, Village Traditions—one of the town’s oldest continuously operating businesses since 1867—offers high-quality, proudly Canadian-made gifts.
You can find clothing, handbags, jewelry, games, puzzles, a wide selection of home décor, and much more. “There’s something for everyone,” says proprietor Shauna Gray. “Right now, Christmas ornaments and festive décor take center stage, alongside specialty cookies and chocolates. For stocking stuffers,” she adds, “I recommend Canadian-made crystals, specialty hot chocolates, and Christmas earrings.”
No shopping visit to Sutton is complete without a stop at The Sutton General Store, where you will find an eclectic mix of home decor and gifts, as well as a selection local antiques.

Each shop in Georgina brings its own little bit of magic. At Twig Gardens & Co. on the Queensway, you will find the ever-popular tiny gift bags by Wishing Timber, the Gift of a Wish filled with little comforts like sage bundles, stovetop simmers, and other small joys. The shop also carries one of a kind Georgina–themed gifts, including Lake Simcoe fish prints.
A short drive brings you to Niemi Family Farm in Mount Albert, a Scandinavian-style escape, and Ontario’s largest Nordic Christmas market. Open Fridays and Saturdays until December 20, the market hosts over sixty vendors, including several from Georgina. Step into the Gnome Shop and discover a treasure trove of ornaments, maple syrup, local honey, and sweet treats. Families can explore Gnome Land with train rides, s’mores by the fire, and a visit from Santa. For all the festive details, visit niemifamilyfarm.ca.
Do not forget to explore smaller businesses, like Artistic Approach Studio in Keswick, where Janet Harpley-Aco offers workshops where you can make your own Christmas ornaments. She guarantees everyone can make one—but if you are not feeling particularly crafty, you can always snag one of her beautifully handcrafted originals instead.
In Jackson’s Point, the Briars Resort Christmas Mini Market (December 7, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.) is your cozy holiday fix. You will find handmade winter goodies, one-of-a-kind gifts, a festive brunch buffet, fun games, souvenirs, and, of course, a jolly visit from Santa himself!
With so much variety here, there’s truly no need to travel far. The season’s magic is just a short drive away—no reindeer required.
