If you’ve been to a Cedar Hedge Concert before, you know the feeling — great live music, a cozy room, and that sense that you are exactly where you should be.

You may have missed the last one — a huge snowstorm hit Georgina just in time to prevent people getting out of the house — but there are four more concerts lined up in the series, with the next two coming up in February and March.

On February 21, Corin Raymond takes the stage with guitarist Mike T. Kerr. Raymond is one of those performers who can tell stories in a way that makes listeners slow down and really pay attention, while Kerr’s expressive guitar gives each song room to breathe.

Raymond once said about his songwriting, “good songs are like seeds — some drift on the wind, some cling to your jeans — but the ones that stick stay with you long after the music ends.”

Kerr once shared that for him playing live is about letting the music speak and sharing stories through the guitar.

Together, Raymond and Kerr create an experience where every note lands just right.

Jenny Whiteley

On March 21, Jenny Whiteley takes the stage. A five-time Juno nominee and two-time winner, she first made waves with her debut solo album, Jenny Whiteley, which won a Juno for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year — a rare honor for a debut. Her follow-up, Hopetown, also won a Juno, making her one of the few artists to earn the award for both their first and second albums.

Whiteley grew up in a musical family and performs with the ease of someone who’s been doing this her whole life. Her songs blend folk, country, and old-time traditions, shaped by years of playing and living the music.

She has a way of making every concert feel personal. As she puts it, “the magic of music happens when it’s live, when you can feel the room, hear people breathe with the songs, and share that moment together.”

Two nights, two great reasons to come out and enjoy live music the way it’s meant to be heard — up close and shared.
