Have you ever wished you could buy an artistic stuffed bat, bone art, or see a clown swallow a sword?

The Carnival of Curiosities is coming to Keswick on July 28 from 10am till 5pm at the Georgina Pioneer Village. Spectators are invited to enjoy a day of entertainment, vendors, and oddities.

Britney Layne, the organizer, said. “This is the first year we have done anything like this. I started this with the intentions of bringing the spooky to summer. I laughed the other day when my sister told me #summerween is trending on TikTok.”

She has displayed her wares as a vendor at the Barrie Oddities Market and wanted to bring something similar to Georgina.

Layne has a background in event planning and said, “Our vendors are full of oddities such as skulls, bone art, and more. Our entertainment list is something for everyone we have sword swallowing clowns, contortionist, plus a live band and more!”

Stephanic Matthews owns Solace Serenity Healing, a specialty shop in Sutton and is a sponsor for the event. “At my store I love to have one-of-a-kind products. The carnival is right up that alley for me and having something so different in our township is absolutely fantastic.”

Matthews is bringing handmade beaded spiders, dragonflies, handcrafted kitchen sets, and 3D printed creatures. She will also have secondhand clothing there to sell and plus more. Some of the profits go to buying food for our community that needs a little help making ends meet.”

Tickets are $5 if purchased in advance at Solace Serenity Healing, $8 at the event, or $5 at the event plus a food donation.
