Lucy’s Diner in Pefferlaw opened its 1950s-themed doors on Saturday, June 1, 2024, and has been serving food and cheer to our community almost every “flipping” day since.
Owner Shannon Laframboise is celebrating the milestone with a celebration BBQ on Sunday, June 1 with live music, a special menu, and outdoor dining. The event begins at 10 a.m. and runs till 4 p.m.
Performers include Cannington’s own bluegrass country singer, Johnny Barron, and a band called VHS from Lindsay.

Laframboise said, “I would say that opening this place has been like coming home to me. I loved working here years ago, and now I own it. Many of the regular customers from back then have returned and have been so supportive. It never feels like work. We laugh and joke all day, every day.”
The iconic show I Love Lucy is the inspiration for this popular breakfast and lunch hang-out. Just like the characters in the sitcom, regulars are making memories and having fun at the diner.
Jenn Saucier-Berninger is a founding member of the Marshfahrts motorcycle and hot rod club, and they always meet at Lucy’s for breakfast.
“Lucy’s is a great atmosphere. It’s relaxed. The food is delicious, and the staff are great! It’s usually always busy, so when our club goes, we always make reservations.”
