Step into Giuseppe’s Subs & Such, and you’re back in the early ’90s — just as owner Joe Dindoust intended. His shelves are packed with quirky knick-knacks and retro finds that lift your mood before you even order.
Joe fell for Georgina back in the early ’90s when his mom took the family camping at Sibbald’s Point. “We loved this town,” he says, remembering many happy times with family and friends.
In 1999, he returned to Georgina, eventually making Georgina his home.
Owning a business on High Street in Sutton was always Joe’s dream. When the old building with Jonathan’s Fish & Chips came up for sale, Joe grabbed the chance.
After a few business twists — including a pandemic detour — the middle section of the building became home for subs, sweets, and friendly chatter.
As a teen, Joe worked in Italian delis in Toronto, learning the art of making a great sandwich. That experience comes through in every bite at his new spot.
“I love subs and desserts,” he says, “and the laid-back small-town atmosphere. This place is all about nostalgia and personal memories of those fun vacation days.”

At the back, the patio overlooks the river, where flowers rub elbows with tomato and cucumber plants — not your usual restaurant decor, but it sure makes the place feel cozy!
Inside, the walls showcase art by Melanie “Melchicky” Kushner, whose colourful pieces are for sale.
Joe’s good friend Tracy — originally hired to decorate the front — now works alongside him. “The classic assorted sub is the biggest hit here,” she says, smiling between customers.
Freshly made sandwiches, ice cream, and desserts from the Italian bakery of Joe’s uncle keep people coming back.
Hillary Stead stopped by for the first time to try a turkey sub after seeing a post on the Facebook page Connecting in Georgina. She decided to give it a try because people had written about how friendly everyone was and how great the patio looked.
At Subs and Such, the door never really closes — and that’s just how Joe likes it!
