In a continued effort targeting suspects involved in trafficking cocaine and fentanyl in the Town of Georgina, investigators with the York Regional Police #3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau, Property Crime Unit, have arrested and charged 23 people and seized close to $100,000 worth of drugs.
The investigation took place between February 1, 2021, and June 15, 2021, into suspected drug dealers who were operating in the Town of Georgina. Through the investigation, officers were able to identify multiple suspects. Search warrants were executed at four residential homes in Georgina as well as four residential homes and two businesses in the City of Toronto.
Seized items include 117 grams of fentanyl (green, camo, grey, pink, red), 291 grams of cocaine, 14 grams of MDMA, 13 MDMA capsules, 7.5 pounds of cannabis marihuanna, 519 grams of psilocybin, 30 oxycocet pills, with a combined street value of $95,500. In addition, $94,790 of Canadian currency was seized.
In total, police have laid 81 charges as a result of this investigation.
Through funding provided by the Ontario Government, the Criminal Intelligence Service of Ontario supported this York Regional Police investigation.
