Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal collision in the Town of Georgina.
On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at approximately 11:45 a.m., York Regional Police were called to the area of Woodbine Avenue and Baseline Road for reports of a two-vehicle collision.
When officers arrived at the scene, they learned that a blue Volkswagen Golf collided with a red Pontiac G6.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 39-year-old male from Georgina, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 59-year-old female driver of the Pontiac was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police or anyone who may have dashcam footage or residential video surveillance of the collision, to please come forward.
