TORONTO — Ontario is reporting 31 further COVID-19 deaths today and more than 200 cases for the first time in six days.

The province reported 206 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 33,301.

The province now has 2,595 COVID-19-linked deaths and 28,468 recoveries.

Health Minister Christine Elliott cautioned against drawing too many conclusions from the number of new cases creeping above 200 today.

Elliott noted on Twitter that most regions are seeing few or no new cases — with 125 of the cases today from Toronto and the neighbouring Region of Peel.

Elliott says the situation in hospitals remains largely stable.

Ontario has 333 patients in hospital, including 80 in intensive care.
