Food is the foundation of life. A lack of nutritious meals turns everyday life into a struggle. That is why food pantries are so vital—they are lifelines for families in need, making sure no one goes without this basic need.
Ewa and Steeve Chwojko will shine a light on the importance of food while raising funds to support the growing needs of local families who rely on our help every day.
The event, The Art of Food, will take you on a fascinating journey through time, exploring how artists across different ages depicted food—and why. Some pieces are deeply symbolic, while others are just plain fun! You will also discover surprising and quirky facts about fruits, veggies, and more.
For a lively touch, get ready to be entertained by more than just an animated presentation! Enjoy performances by talented locals, including singing, dancing (special shoutout to Meghan Bold, owner of Bold Steps Dance Studio), and even some interactive fun with gentle Nia movements led by award-winner Lauren Helmkay.
There is also a mini fashion show by Debbie Macina, owner of Sweet Pea Boutique, and so much more. And that’s just a few of highlights.
To set the mood, local artists will showcase their food-themed artwork—adding an extra touch of creativity to the afternoon.

The Georgina Food Pantry team will also share some eye-opening numbers that remind us how far we have come—and how much more there is still to do! Did you know that last year alone, the pantry made 7,291 house visits, served 990 children multiple times, provided 2,138 Children’s Breakfast Club hampers, and distributed 112 nourishing packs to people experiencing homelessness in Georgina?
Local needs keep growing, and we need your help to keep up. Please come and support us! Nourish your spirit and help fill their tables.
The event takes place on Sunday, February 23 at 2pm at the Link, 20849 Dalton Rd. Sutton.
